I hope everyone had a great Spring Break and I am very glad to have each one of you back! It is becoming that time of year with crazy weather watches and warnings so I feel its important to do a little research on several different kinds of severe weather as well as not so severe. I would like for you to be able to answer these questions.

The 1979 Red River Valley tornado outbreak was a tornado event that occurred on April 10, 1979 near the Red River Valley. It's most noted for the F4 tornado that hit Wichita Falls, Texas and is commonly referred to as "Terrible Tuesday" by many meteorologists.

WICHITA FALLS (AP) - Weather isn't taken lightly in North Texas, where big skies stretch on forever, silhouetting oil rigs and cottonwoods in eternal expanses.
Where the jolly sun beams in concentrated smiles, as if through a looking glass, parching the red dirt and crackling the ground so that it, too, smiles back.
Where Mother Nature isn't always so neighborly.
It was April 10, 1979, that Mother Nature grew furious.
It was when three supercells spawned a series of tornadoes that dispatched that fury - more than 50 tornadoes that barreled through not only Texas and Oklahoma, but through Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, Louisiana, Nebraska, Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana and Alabama.
It was the perfect storm, and Wichita Falls was in the middle of it all.
An F4 tornado hit Wichita Falls late in the afternoon that day, Terrible Tuesday, killing 42 people in Wichita County and another 12 in Wilbarger County as it dug its heels over almost 47 miles, leaving unimaginable damage in its path.
It's been nearly 30 years since that day, and the Wichita Falls Museum of North Texas History is remembering the Terrible Tuesday that left its indelible mark in the area with its latest exhibit, "Gone With the Big Wind: 30th Anniversary of the 1979 Tornado."
The exhibit is mainly a photography exhibit, with countless 8x10 black-and-white images displayed at the museum showing the destruction: cars pummeled as if they were made of tin, and frames of houses surrounded by a swirl of debris.
Also on display is the Red River Chapter of the Embroiderers Guild of America tapestry that's on loan to the museum for the exhibit. It has moved from its permanent display home at the Wichita Falls Public Library to the museum for the next few months.
"It's the story of the town and the town's recovery," said Lita Watson, head of the Wichita County Archives and executive director of the history museum.
The embroidery work doesn't just remember the tragedy of that day, but the ability of the people in Wichita Falls to renew themselves.
The work includes some of the humorous signs that showed up around town after the tornado: "For rent: hall and half bath" and "split level/half-split level."
A number of articles about that day have been reprinted and are on display along with the various photographs, like an article about a missing, 10-foot diameter giant golf ball and an 8-foot tee.
"The giant ball and tee may be (one of) the most unusual items lost by residents of Wichita Falls in last week's tornado. The ball, mounted on its tee, was located at the golf driving range on Southwest Parkway," reads a Wichita Falls Record News article from April 18, 1979.
Another article reprinted from the April 9, 1999, Times Record News said of that day: "The mile-wide tornado that ripped through Wichita Falls on April 10, 1979, was one of the deadliest in U.S. history."
Watson herself includes her memory of that day in the exhibit: "Dr. Earl Watson, our son Wayne and I did some shopping that Tuesday afternoon at Sikes Senter ... We went back to Iowa Park," she wrote. Her family kept track of the ominous storm brewing around them as they listened to the radio. "From there, we watched a funnel cloud go north across the Red River ... Dr. Watson and Wayne headed toward General Hospital to treat the wounded."
It's just one of the many stories that day from that unforgettable tornado - stories that still have not been forgotten even three decades later
