This week we are going to use draw.to it is an internet version of paint. The only difference is is that when you are done you can click share and it will give you a link to share your drawing with others using other social networking sites. I have mine linked below.

New Chicken Pictures

It is nearing the end of another school year! I thought I would post some pictures of the chickens. These will be the last ones. I will also post some pictures from the hatch! Look at how much they have changed in a little over a month! I really enjoyed doing this project with each of you!

This week our Second Graders are going to learn how to use a program that inserts their faces into a video. There are TONS of websites for digital camera fun but I decided that this one was probably the best.

5th graders will be learning how to jazz up their power points using an online program called rocket slide


Below I have also posted recent pictures of the chicks. We are about to add the additional running room to their pen because they are getting so big. Some of the students are wanting me to bring one back up to school but since they are getting so big and trying to fly I do not think that is a great idea. I will keep posting pictures from time to time to keep the kids updated.

I am experiencing some problems getting the other 2 to upload so I will try again tomorrow!

Week of April 26

This week is going to be a very long but it will be another history making week at HES because our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders are going to ROCK THE TAKS! I just know all of their hard work is going to pay off and end in another Exemplary Rating for our school! Kindergarten is going to be using Microsoft Paint to draw different kinds of weather. First grade is going to create their own animals using Switch-Zoo. I have updated pictures of our baby chicks that our class hatched below

Incubation

We have had a busy couple of weeks with our 5th Graders Rocking the TAKS test and going to the track to prepare for our Field Day on May 7th. On Monday morning I walked in my classroom to find 3 baby chicks had hatched! On Tuesday imagine my surprise to find 10 had hatched before I made it into the classroom that day, later that day 2 more hatched. Wednesday I walked in to find 3 had hatched, and just when I thought they were done I came in Thursday morning to find one more little chick! As of today I think the eggs are done hatching we had 19 out of 23 eggs hatch!

I tried candling this morning and I tried to take a picture of it since we are in Day 6 of incubation, but I haven't quite been able to get it to look how I want it to. So I found this picture using Google Images.

This week most of my classes will be going to
www.myavatareditor.com we will be figuring out how to create avatars using this program. Basically just to learn how the program works etc.

One of my 5th grade classes has earned a free day because they filled up their sticker chart for PAWSITIVE BEHAVIOR to play games on favorite links. WAY TO GO!!!!

Kindergarten will be using wordle to create word art out of the letter of the week.

With First Grade We did a picture that tells a story about them. The Zoo Project seemed to be more suited for a second grade student. We did the picture using Microsoft Paint.
If you were a girl you had a yellow circle and if you were a boy you had a brown circle.

We did a circle for the favorite color.
Purple X's for how many pets that you have.
Blue Rectangles for brothers Pink Rectangles for sisters how many rectangles is how many of each the student has.
A Triangle for the color of the students eyes.
A Zig Zag the Color of the Shirt that they were wearing.
Red Pants if you were wearing blue jeans.
L for Long Sleeved Shirt S for Short Sleeves.
A Blue Circle for Tennis Shoes an Orange Circle for Boots or Pink Circle for Slip-on Shoes.

The week of February 15th

In My Class this week we will be doing:

3rd and 4th grade will be doing a spreadsheet activity involving the power of a penny.

If you had the choice of being given one million dollars or a penny that will double in value everyday over a month, which would you choose? We will also experiment with different amounts.

5th Grade will be creating a Magic Square puzzle using a spreadsheet where every edge needs to add up to 15. Can they meet the challenge?

Using wordle.net Kindergarten will create word art with their letters of the week with my assistance.

First Grade & Second Grade will be creating a class zoo using the Microsoft Power Point Program.
